Traffic was diverted in Elmwood Tuesday afternoon after a fire ripped through a home on Hespeler Avenue.

The blaze broke out around 2:30 p.m. in an upstairs bedroom, according to a witness on scene.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and said the family inside was able to vacate the house safely. Although, at least one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
