There’s no rain in the immediate forecast, but moisture was on the mind of dozens of Winnipeggers who lined up bright and early Saturday morning to purchase discounted rain barrels and compost bins. The city held a one-day sale at numerous shopping centres, including Kildonan Place, where some people began lining up at 6:30 a.m. So much for sleeping in on the weekend.
Bruce Cameron of Orbis Canada — the manufacturer of the compost bins — said supply was limited and no rain checks were given out this year. Customers were so eager to get their hands on the items, they even helped Bruce and his crew unload their supply truck.
