A 20-year-old man from Thompson is facing charges in relation to the death of his child — a one-and-a half-month-old girl.
The unresponsive infant was brought to the Thompson General Hospital on Friday and later succumbed to her injuries. The cause of death has been attributed to blunt force trauma after an autopsy in Winnipeg on Saturday.
The name of the accused is not being released at this time.
The man will make his first court appearance in Thompson on Monday.
RCMP are continuing to investigate.
