Winnipeg Harvest Desperately Needing Food Donations

May 17, 2010 3:11 PM | News

Winnipeg Harvest is turning to the public in an urgent call for nutritional items for its food bank to feed the community.

On Monday, Harvest only had kits to feed 560 households. They currently distribute kits to 5,000 households each week.

The following items are desperately needed:

  • Canned Fish, Poultry or Meat including canned tuna, ham, or chicken
  • Canned Fruit or Vegetables
  • Canned Soup or Dry Soup
  • Dry Mixes including pasta or rice mixes

Safeway will match all food items dropped off at any location in Winnipeg, and Peak of the Market will match items donated pound for pound with potatoes.

Winnipeg Harvest is located at 1085 Winnipeg Avenue.
