The Salvation Army is hosting open houses across the country today to give the public an opportunity to tour its facilities and see the services that provide for 1.5 million Canadians each year.

The one-day event culminates a month-long national fundraising campaign — the National Red Shield Campaign — which educates the public on poverty in Canada and raises money to combat the problem.

The public can tour the Winnipeg Booth Centre at 180 Henry Avenue between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
