The city’s Insect Control Branch predicts the skeeters to make an appearance in the next three to seven days. The unseasonably warm weather has forced crews to be aggressive in their recent larviciding efforts.
“The Insect Control Branch is utilizing all resources which include approximately 160 staff and 4 helicopters to check and treat approximately 33,000 hectares of potential water sites in Winnipeg and the surrounding 10 km treatment area,” the city said Thursday morning.
The trap count currently sits at 4, but that will likely change by the weekend.
Better pick up some bug spray.
