An investigation is underway into a homicide in Thompson.
RCMP say a 49-year-old man from the northern Manitoba community was transported to Thompson General Hospital in critical condition after being assaulted outside a local hotel on Thursday.
He later succumbed to his injuries at the Health Sciences Centre.
Police have charged 22-year-old Donald Timothy Massan of Thompson with second-degree murder in connection with the crime. Massan will make his first court appearance on Tuesday, May 25.
An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for a later date in Winnipeg.
The two men did not know each other.
