Woman Dies in Rollover Near Hamiota

A single-vehicle rollover on Highway 355 east of Highway 21 near Hamiota has claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman.

RCMP say the accident happened Sunday shortly after 9 p.m. when the eastbound travelling vehicle hit a pothole and rolled.

The driver was taken to Hamiota Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. A 17-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with undetermined non-life threatening injuries.

An autopsy on the Shoal Lake woman is scheduled for today at the Brandon Hospital.

RCMP say alcohol is not a factor in this collision.

UPDATE: June 1, 2010 — The victim has been identified as Teena-Joy Adams.
