From June 16 to 19, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada will host the first of seven national public gatherings in Winnipeg.
The four-day event at The Forks will bring many former students and their families to the city to learn about the history of the schools and share their own experiences.
Organizers say hotel availability is hard to come by and are requesting the generosity of Winnipeggers to open up their homes. If you’d like to host a residential school survivor during this time, you’re asked to call 984-5885.
