City crews will be working overtime to pick up flood-damaged items from Winnipeg homes after last weekend’s severe rain storm.

The city says crews will be out tonight in the south Transcona area picking up items left at the end of driveways.

Residents wanting items removed should contact 311 and let the customer service representative know their items were damaged by basement flooding. The city also will need to know how many large items will be left for pick up (e.g., tables, couches, mattresses).

There is no fee for items to be removed, but there is a fee for appliances containing ozone depleting substances, such as fridges and freezers.

Collection crews will work evenings and weekends to get items picked up as quickly as possible.
