On the second day of rookie camp, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers inked draft pick Chris Smith.
The Toronto native was the team’s second pick and 28th overall selection in this year’s CFL Canadian Draft.
Smith was the defensive player of the game in the 2009 Vanier Cup in the Golden Gaels’ victory over the Calgary Dinos after registering 4.5 tackles, a 15-yard sack, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The Bombers host Montreal in the first game of the season on June 13 at Canad Inns Stadium.
