Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Rollover on Highway 6

By David Klassen

A 46-year-old man from Lake Manitoba First Nation has died after rolling his vehicle on Highway 6 Sunday morning.

RCMP say the single-vehicle accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. about 15 km north of Grand Rapids.

The lone driver was heading south on the highway when he drifted on to the southbound shoulder and overcorrected ending up in the northbound ditch after crossing the highway. The vehicle he was driving rolled several times.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and speed is considered to be a factor, police say.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Health Sciences Centre for Monday.
