City’s Pride Community Has a Gay Ol’ Time

Over 10,000 people gathered in downtown Winnipeg on Sunday for the biggest Winnipeg Pride Festival the city has ever seen since it began 23 years ago.

Members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities came together to show their rainbow of colours and embrace who they truly are. Former Winnipeg mayor Glen Murray (above) led the celebration as the parade made its way from the legislature up Broadway to The Forks for a concert by headliner Deborah Cox.

On Friday, the pride flag was raised in front of City Hall.
