Parade at CFB Shilo Marks Creation of New Battery

A military parade marking the way artillery units are organized took place Thursday morning at CFB Shilo just east of Brandon.

First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (1 RCHA) marked the creation of a new “Z” Battery within the unit.

1 RCHA A and B Batteries date back to 1871 and were the first Regular Forces units in the Canadian Army. In 2005, they celebrated 100 years of service.
