Twenty participants in Leadership Winnipeg, a program founded by Volunteer Manitoba Inc. and the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, will graduate today after a year-long journey to craft and enhance their leadership skills.
As part of their class work, participants were involved in community consultations with five of Winnipeg’s cultural communities: Aboriginal, African, Filipino, Francophone and Indo-Canadian. They explored the strengths, opportunities and challenges faced by those communities and how they can contribute to the vibrancy of our city.
“The experience has opened their eyes and brought new insights for the class into the complex issues facing our community,” said Doneta Brotchie, Leadership Winnipeg program director.
The graduation ceremony begins at 4 p.m. at Prairie Theatre Exchange.
