One person has been killed in a head-on collision in the RM of DeSalaberry.
RCMP say the crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 23 and PR 200.
A 2002 Volkswagen Jetta travelling southbound on PR 200 crossed the intersection of Highway 23 and collided with an eastbound 2001 Chrysler Neon. The Jetta ended up in the east ditch where it overturned, while the Neon came to a rest on the southeast shoulder of Highway 23.
The four people in the Jetta, including the 28-year-old female driver, and the lone 28-year-old female occupant of the Neon, were transported to the DeSalaberry and Morris hospitals with undetermined injuries. The female driver of the Jetta suffered minor injuries and was shortly released, while the remaining four injured were transferred to the Health Sciences Centre.
Overnight, a 54-year-old male passenger of the Jetta succumbed to his injuries at HSC.
Neither alcohol or speed are factors in the collision, police say.
