Starting today until Thursday, the second annual Indigenous Festival takes place at various venues throughout the city, celebrating the music and cultural expression of Indigenous people with the musical diversity of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
This year’s theme of New Traditions will explore the fusion of traditional elements from many cultures — China, India, Brazil, Chile, West Africa, and North America — to promote the creation of new sounds and expressions of music.
The first event will be at the Centennial Concert Hall tonight, followed by performances at the West End Cultural Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday, before wrapping up on Thursday at the Burton Cummings Theatre.

There will also be free noon-hour entertainment in Old Market Square until Wednesday, June 23.
