Photographer Ted Grant ventured south of the border to Grand Forks over the weekend for the Outlaws Sprint Car Series at River Cities Speedway.
The 1/4 mile track is a huge draw for Manitobans in the summer, which makes up for 35% of the speedway’s business. In fact, the RV park is affectionately known as Little Canada.
Steve Kinser from Bloomington, Indiana took the win and a $10,000 purse in front of an estimated 5,000 fans on Saturday.
Each sprint car weighs in at about 1,375 lbs with 900 horsepower and costs $50,000 each after being customized to a driver’s liking.
The fastest lap of the night was 10.045 seconds at a speed of 110 MPH.
