A new art exhibit at Mennonite Heritage College Gallery is turning heads as works from Manju Lodha, Ray Dirks, Isam Aboud & Dr. M.K. Sharma, Jaipur and India are featured.

In the Spirit of Humanity opened Thursday night and runs until September 18.

“Each person in my recent paintings, except my mother, I met only in passing, for a second, or at most part of the afternoon,” said curator Ray Dirks. “But by not knowing them, not knowing their space in the world does not make them of any less value. As we told every child and adult that participated in the spirit of humanity, each has value, each can have something to offer. Each can make the world a better place, even if just in his or her small space.”

The exhibit is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
