Grab your paddles and get set to hit the waters of FortWhyte Alive this weekend. Sunday, June 27 is National Canoe Day and Paddle Manitoba is celebrating by holding Paddlefest 2010.
Kayak and canoe demonstrations will be offered, along with clinics, camp cooking, paddling instruction by Paddle Canada, environmental displays, boating safety, youth camp displays, and a chance to check out the latest boats and paddling gear. Free voyageur canoe rides will be available throughout the day and kids can make their own paper canoe or kayak.
Admission is completely free and organizers are hoping families of all ages come out.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
