A late afternoon head-on collision north of Winnipeg temporarily rerouted traffic on Henderson Highway near Lockport.
A 2007 Pontiac G5 and 2007 Buick Allure collided near 6400 Henderson Highway in the RM of St. Clements at about 4:25 p.m.
RCMP say the Pontiac was heading southbound when it made contact with the northbound Buick, sending both vehicles to hit different power poles in the ditch.
The driver of the Pontiac — a 36-year-old Winnipeg woman — was taken to Selkirk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the 81-year-old male driver of the Buick was uninjured. The man’s female passenger, however, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
MTS and Manitoba Hydro were notified of potential damage to the poles and sent out crews to examine the situation.
Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision, but no charges have been laid.
No names have been released. The investigation continues.
