The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Friday the signing of right-handed pitcher Brandon Forshee to the team.

The 21-year-old comes to the Fish after an impressive final collegiate season with the Francis Marion Patriots as their closer.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Forshee was 3-0 with a 2.88 ERA and an impressive 13 saves in 27 games. His talent on the field helped the Patriots reach the final of the NCAA II Southeast Regional Championship.

With the signing of Forshee, the Goldeyes announced the release of right-handed relief pitcher Philip Roy.

Winnipeg is back in action tonight in Fargo to meet the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the first of three games at Newman Outdoor Field this weekend.
