The cost of having a vehicle inspected in the province will increase as of August 1.
Manitoba Public Insurance is raising the fee for a government-authorized vehicle safety inspection to $55, up from $45.
The increase applies to safety inspections for cars, motorcycles and light trucks.
This is the first increase MPI has made to the rate in nine years.
The increase is meant to help cover the costs incurred by the inspection station operator.
