The 2010 River City Dragon Boat Festival kicked off Friday night and runs until Sunday.
The three-day paddle event supports the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, with each day packed with entertainment and activities for the entire family.
“We invite all Manitobans to join us at the the River City Dragon Boat Festival this weekend for what is sure to be an exciting, hotly-contested event,” said Sally Flintoft, president and CEO of the HSC Foundation.
Races continue all day today beginning at 10 a.m. with live entertainment provided by Vicki Shae and Jason Maas and the Lower Companions.
On Sunday, races begin at 9:45 a.m. with Chemo Savvy at noon, a live performance by Jerry Sereda at 1 p.m. and closing ceremonies at 3 p.m.
Manitoba Water Ski Park at 365 Murdock Road in Transcona is hosting the races.
