A 59-year-old man is presumed drowned in Whiteshell Provincial Park after an accident on Saturday.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP were dispatched at about 5 p.m. to the Otter Falls campground.

It’s believed the man was swimming with a woman in the river, when he was overpowered by the current and went under.

Attempts to locate the man were unsuccessful.

The woman was able to make it to shore safely.

The man’s body has not been recovered, and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is investigating.

No name has been released.
