Seven local players have signed up with the Manitoba Bisons football team this fall.

The Bisons announced Tuesday the addition of receiver Anthony Malot, offensive lineman Ben Downs, linebacker Ryan Ditchfield, defensive back Mitchell Harrison, offensive lineman Bradley Schwean, defensive end Christien Walby and offensive lineman Kris Stevens.

“In this group, Winnipeggers Ben Downs (from St. Paul’s HS) and Anthony Malott (Oak Park HS) were a couple of the best players in the province when they left and it is a huge bonus to welcome them back to the Bison program this season,” said head coach Brian Dobie.

The 2010 season kicks off September 3 in Regina, with the Bisons hosting Alberta the following week with their first home game on September 11.
