The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Jazz on the Rooftop concert series continues on August 12 with the release of Walle Larsson’s new CD Beaches.

Larsson’s style incorporates elements of jazz funk, rhythm and blues and captivates both new listeners and those more familiar with the smooth jazz style. In the last few years Larsson and his band have been riding a new wave of popularity performing their original brand of smooth jazz. Walle Larsson’s professional career has taken him from Montreal to Japan, sharing the stage with entertainment greats like Tony Bennett and Mel Torme.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with a BBQ until 7 p.m. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. with limited, informal seating.

Tickets are $21 for WAG members, $23 for seniors and students and $25 for adults. Tickets are available at the WAG or any Ticketmaster location.

Other performers scheduled to take part in Jazz on the Rooftop are the U of M Jazz Camp Faculty on August 19 and Big Dave McLean on August 26.
