The Gimli Icelandic Festival — or Islendingadagurinn as it’s known — brought thousands of people to the small lakefront community over the weekend.
The Gimli Viking Village was the popular attraction, as performers battled each other in staged fight shows in front of thrilled onlookers. The event was put on by Icelandic Festival of Manitoba and organized by members of The Vikings-Vinland.
An historical Viking Encampment was on display up on Harbour Hill.
