A day after the Winnipeg Blue Bombers released veteran linebacker Ike Charlton, the team announced two additions on Tuesday.
Non-import receiver David McKoy and non-import defensive back James Green were added to the practice roster.
McKoy is a Mississauga native and was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2nd Round (9th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft. McKoy played nine games with the Riders recording two catches for 13 yards in his first season, where he played on special teams before missing the remainder of the season with a knee injury. He was named a CIS First Team All-Canadian and an OUA First Team all-star after playing four seasons with the Guelph Gryphons, where he was second in the CIS with 48 receptions for 858 yards and eight touchdowns in his senior year.
Green was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the 3rd Round (18th overall) of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft. He appeared in every game for the Argos last season primarily on special teams and finished the year second on the team in special teams tackles with 19 and added a blocked punt. Green played safety for the Calgary Dinos and was named a Canada West All-Star in 2008. The Argos released him during this year’s training camp and signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in July. He was released last month.
