The Winnipeg Rifles are attempting to whittle down a list of more than 100 hopefuls vying for a spot on the football team this year.
Camp started on Tuesday with a team meeting at Canad Inns Stadium and will run until Thursday, August 12. On Saturday, August 7, the football club will move to East Side Eagles Field (723 London Street), as the Rock on the Range concert occupies stadium use.
Rifle hopefuls will suit up again on Sunday, August 8 before taking a break on Monday. On Tuesday, August 10, practice will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the stadium for three consecutive nights.
Following an off day on the 13th, the team will head to Yorkton, SK for their annual exhibition tilt vs. the Regina Thunder at 2 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
