The Winnipeg Goldeyes had their weekend home games postponed Saturday and Sunday due to rain and poor field conditions, but were still busy making transactions behind the scenes.
Manager Rick Forney signed right-handed rookie pitcher Sean Gregory on Saturday, who appeared in 29 games with the Quebec Les Capitales of the Can-Am League this season.
The 23-year-old New York native had a 4-2 record and 5.83 ERA in 41 and two-thirds innings.
On Sunday, the Goldeyes released right-handed pitcher Corey Bass and infielder Patrick Brooks.
Bass was signed on July 17 and was 1-0 with a 9.39 ERA in 10 games with the Goldeyes this season.
Brooks appeared in six games with the Goldeyes and had a .080 batting average since being signed on August 3.

Sunday’s game — also with the RedHawks — will be made up on Saturday, August 28 as part of a doubleheader when the team is back in Winnipeg. The first of two seven-inning games will also begin at 6 p.m.
Fans with tickets to either postponed game can exchange them for any other regular season game at the Canwest Park box office.
