The Winnipeg Art Gallery is known for showcasing works of art, but come this fall, it will be the setting to help new artists create their own.

The WAG’s Studio Programs will show you how to create an animated video, hand-build a clay teapot, paint with hot wax, create a mosaic table and how to take incredible photographs.

Classes will be held monthly on Saturdays, and are available for all skill levels and ages, beginning at the age of 5.

Adult classes run in the evenings and afternoons, with reduced seniors’ rates for the afternoon classes.

Studio Programs also offers special intensive two-day workshops on certain weekends, such as a soapstone carving workshop conducted by artist Alex Alikashuak in early September.

Registration is open now for ten-week classes starting in late September. Photography classes begin at the end of August.

Interested participants can register and pay for their classes at WAG.ca or by calling 789-1766.
