Prior to last night’s Northern League roster deadline, Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney had his hands full making last-minute transactions.
The Goldeyes acquired right-handed pitcher Chris Kelly from the Lake County Fielders for a player to be named later and infielder Price Kendall was activated from the disabled list. Meanwhile, right-handed pitcher Sean Gregory and infielder Zach Williams have been released.
Just hours before those deals, the Goldeyes signed right-handed pitcher Emary Frederick, who spent the first half of this season in the New York Mets system at the Single-A and Double-A levels.
The Goldeyes can still add anyone from their disabled list or inactive list to their active roster this season, as long as that player has been on the list for the required amount of time.
The Fish will wrap up a three-game set with the Rockford RiverHawks tonight at Canwest Park. Game time is 6 p.m.
