An 86-year-old man who went missing on Thursday after going for a hike has been found alive.
Winnipegger Joseph Kuz was located by a massive search and rescue effort near Hadashville, Manitoba Monday morning after he ventured into the woods north of Highway 1. Searchers on ATVs found the man in a heavily wooded swamp at around 9:30 a.m.
A ground and air search was launched to find Kuz, but relatives maintained he was a tough individual and knew how to survive in the wilderness.
RCMP say Kuz is dehydrated and tired, but otherwise in good health. He has since been taken to hospital for treatment and observation.
