Two Dead in Northern Manitoba Crash

September 7, 2010 3:01 PM | News

A weekend crash on Highway 10 has claimed the lives of two people in Cranberry Portage.

A 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck was travelling northbound on the highway at around 4 a.m. Saturday when it lost control and rolled into the west ditch several times. The vehicle struck a large steel highway sign in the process, which contributed to the damage sustained.

A 32-year-old woman was found deceased at the scene, while a 28-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Both occupants in the vehicle were from Flin Flon.

RCMP say speed is a factor in the collision, and that both the driver and passenger were not wearing sealbelts.

No names have been released.
