An open house demonstrating the sport of sledge hockey will draw fans to the new MTS Iceplex on Portage Avenue Sunday, September 19.

The SMD Foundation’s Sledge Hockey Manitoba league will host the event on the province’s first fully-accessible ice surface.

Those wanting to try their hand at the sport themselves should bring their own full-visor/cage helmet and gloves.

The brand new 172,000 square foot multi-plex facility includes four North American regulation-sized ice pads, 20 player dressing rooms, a pro shop and other amenities.

The open house is from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
