A small dog in distress was rescued from a potentially deadly situation on Wednesday afternoon.
Winnipeg police assisted the Winnipeg Humane Society when a dog was spotted through a living room window hanging by a curtain cord that had become wrapped around its neck.
The dog’s owner could not be located, so officers forced their way into the home on Chesnet Street and cut the cord, safely freeing the animal.
The owner was eventually located and it was determined that the dog had been left alone earlier in the day without concerns.
