Students from the University of Manitoba are doing their part to beat a national fundraising record for Cystic Fibrosis today.
Shine Day will see students shining shoes in downtown Winnipeg and on campus as part of Manitoba Shinerama, in which they beat the record for last year.
So far over $31,000 has been raised for Cystic Fibrosis research and patient care, but the students still want to hit their goal of $50,000, which would be a national record.
This is the 26th year U of M students have participated in the 46th annual Shine Day event.
Watch for the shoe shiners between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
