Local auditions to appear in the touring production Ballroom with a Twist are coming to the city on Friday, September 24.
Louis Van Amstel from “Dancing with the Stars” is behind the ballroom production, which embarks on a cross-Canada tour next month, including a stop in Winnipeg on October 17 at the Centennial Concert Hall.
Auditions will be held at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, 904 St. James Street at 7:30 p.m.
Van Amstel is a strong believer in supporting local dance and wants to highlight local dancers in each of his Ballroom with a Twist shows touring Canada. “This is a great opportunity for local dancers to get on stage, represent the local dance community and perform in front of thousands of people,” said David Howard of The Event Group, promoter for the event.
The auditions are open to all ballroom dancers and are being held prior to each event.
