Visitors will have a chance to see inside over 35 Manitoba farms on Sunday as part of the province’s first Open Farm Day.

Activities are planned at farms throughout Manitoba, but most of them will be in Steinbach.

From 11:20 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., people can test their sense of direction by making their way through the Steinbach Corn Maze and Adventures.

“For many Manitobans, Open Farm Day will be the first opportunity they will have to visit a farm, meet a farm family and see what the business of farming is all about,” said Agriculture Minister Stan Struthers in a statement.

The day will end with a delicious homemade meal in the Mennonite Heritage Village. Supper from the Field will begin at 5 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (204) 392-7268 and are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 years and under.

For a list of participating farms, call (204) 821-5322 or visit the province’s website (PDF).

UPDATE: Tickets for tomorrow’s fall supper are sold out. Organizers are planning another supper — likely in the spring — due to overwhelming demand.
