A 14-year-old girl died Monday morning after the vehicle she was driving rolled on the Fairford First Nation.

RCMP were dispatched at about 9 a.m. to a rollover involving a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan that had gone off the road and rolled.

The girl was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and seat belt use are considered factors in the crash.

No name has been released.

This is the second accident involving a 14-year-old girl in recent days in the province. On Saturday night, Carberry RCMP attended a property in the RM of North Cypress when a youth became trapped between a potato conveyor belt and support bracket. It’s believed the girl attempted to cross over the conveyor when it was in motion and slipped. She was transferred to Brandon General Hospital with lower body injuries.
