October 4, 2010 1:27 PM | News

A Saskatchewan man has died in hospital after a two-vehicle crash south of Waskada, Manitoba.

A 2007 GMC pickup truck travelling westbound and a 2007 Ford pickup truck travelling northbound collided at a controlled intersection on a gravel road.

The crash happened Thursday, September 30, sending both vehicles into the ditch and shearing off a hydro utility pole.

The 44-year-old Palmer, SK man driving the Ford pickup was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died in Winnipeg on October 2.

The driver and passenger of the GMC pickup, both men from Alberta, were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.

No names will be released.
