Thanksgiving meals will be served to approximately 700 people of Winnipeg’s inner-city community this morning at Agape Table.
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and pie are all part of the annual dinner at the community nutrition centre on Broadway.
Earlier this week, volunteers prepared all the fixings that those who rely on Agape look forward to each year.
Agape Table serves roughly 66,000 hot meals annually and has been a staple in the community since 1980.
If you can lend your time in the kitchen, the organization is desperately seeking volunteers. To find out which positions need to be filled, visit AgapeTable.ca.
Siloam Mission will serve its own Thanksgiving dinner today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. About 750 people from the city’s homeless population are expected to attend.
