Child Find Manitoba is issuing a warning over a door-to-door scam making its way through the province.

CFM says individuals are knocking on doors in an attempt to sell residents a magazine subscription on behalf of Child Find.

The scam is reported to involve youth doing the dirty work as a way to rook in more sales, but CFM says it’s not a legitimate campaign. Some door-to-door sales reps have also reportedly claimed that their post-secondary schooling would be paid for if they sold a certain number of subscriptions.

CFM says is not affiliated with these individuals selling magazine subscriptions, nor does it receive any financial benefit from the sale of magazines.

Those who have already fallen victim to the scam can file a complaint with the Manitoba Better Business Bureau and with the Consumer Protection Office of Manitoba.
