Construction Worker Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle

A 21-year-old Winnipeg woman has died after being hit by a vehicle at about 4 p.m. on Monday.

RCMP say the accident happened on Highway 207 between the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 15 near Oakbank.

The woman was working as a signal person in a construction zone when she was reportedly struck by a 1996 Chrysler Intrepid travelling northbound on Highway 207. The 67-year-old male driver was from the R.M. of Springfield.

UPDATE: October 19 — The woman has been identified as Brittany Murray.

UPDATE: February 21, 2011 Mitchell Blostein, 68, of the RM of Springfield, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death. He will appear in Beausejour court on April 12.
