National Animation Series Coming to Cinematheque

The fourth edition of Get Animated!, a series of free animation screenings and activities, is touring cities across Canada from October 26 to November 7.

The National Film Board (NFB) is bringing the series to Winnipeg from October 28 to 31.

Thursday, October 28
7:30 p.m. –- NFB New Releases Program
Screening of 10 new animation releases

Saturday, October 30
2:30 p.m. –- Meet the Director
Winnipeg-born artist and animator Anita Lebeau (Louise, Big Drive)

Sunday, October 31
Special family screenings -– Come dressed in Halloween costumes
12:30 p.m. -– Contes merveilleux pour tous (in French)
2:30 p.m. -– Fairy Tales for All (in English)

Ten new releases are being featured this year, including Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to Life, a puppet-animated work based on the book by Maurice Sendak, featuring the voices of Meryl Streep and Forest Whitaker.

All events take place at the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque theatre at 100 Arthur Street. Admission is free.
