Mayoral candidate Judy Wasylycia-Leis has earned herself a handful of heavy endorsements from previous Winnipeg mayors who want to see her win the city’s top job.

Former Winnipeg Mayors Bill Norrie and Glen Murray, and former Deputy Mayor Bernie Wolfe, announced their endorsement for the former NDP MP on Monday.

“Judy Wasylycia-Leis brings the leadership, compassion and experience that City Hall needs to make Winnipeg a stronger city,” Norrie said in a statement. “Judy is a leader with remarkable tenacity and vision and she will make a true difference in the lives of Winnipeg families in every neighbourhood.”

“Judy is a tremendous leader and a woman of remarkable character,” said Murray. “Judy will bring people together to make Winnipeg a city that will be seen as a leader across Canada.”

Voters head to the polls on October 27.
