Woman Dies in Accident with Freight Train On Highway 207

A 30-year-old woman from the RM of Tache was killed early Wednesday morning after being struck by a train.

RCMP say the accident happened at about 2 a.m. at the junction of Highway 207 and the Trans-Canada Highway. The woman was driving a 2006 Toyota Yaris when she was hit by an eastbound CN train at a controlled crossing. Police report the lights and signal bells were working at the time of the crash.

The name of the deceased isn’t being released.

Police continue to investigate.
