Dentistry students at the University of Manitoba are getting some real world experience this week by seeing patients.
The Faculty of Dentistry is inviting the public to its Health Sciences Centre clinic for a checkup and to further help teach students about oral health.
“We have a 65 chair clinic, designed to treat almost every oral health condition imaginable,” said Lawrence Stockton, Associate Dean Clinical at the University of Manitoba. “All our patients receive top caliber treatment delivered by talented young professionals in an atmosphere that puts a real emphasis on quality care.”
The cost to patients will be approximately 50% of those outlined in the Manitoba Dental Association fee guide.
Stockton says that by having patients come forward, it helps to promote the U of M’s reputation as the home of Canada’s leading oral health training academies.
Those interested in visiting the clinic at 790 Bannatyne Avenue can call (204) 789-3505.
