Winnipeg’s Buffalo Gal Pictures has expanded out to Ontario to continue its work as one of the leading production companies in the country.

“We are thrilled to be establishing a presence in Toronto, which already seems like our second home,” said president Phyllis Laing. “So it feels like a natural and logical move for us.”

The company also has a new head of development, who will be located in the Ontario office and collaborate and strengthen relationships with key creatives, production companies and suppliers. Christine Tyson will be the local liaison between Buffalo Gal Pictures and its distributors, broadcasters, and funding partners.

Tyson comes from Muse Entertainment Enterprises and more recently Shaftesbury Films, where she has participated in projects from development through post-production, and worked closely with writers and collaborators to establish creative vision.

Buffalo Gal Pictures has been in operation since 1994 as an independent film and television production company.
